James Grayson Obituary

Warren - James Edward “Jim” Grayson, 62, of Howland passed away on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center after a 10 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Jim was born on February 20, 1962 in Plattsburgh, NY, son of Earl Sr. and Anita (Miller) Grayson.

Jim was a 1981 graduate of Lakeview High School. Since 2005, he worked for Control Transformer, building many different types of transformers including ones for the Tesla charging stations.

Outside of work, Jim was, at one time, a volunteer firefighter for the Cortland and Mecca fire departments. He also briefly worked at Sharon Speedway, volunteering on the pit crew for Sprint cars. Jim enjoyed attending races at Sharon Speedway with his mother. He also enjoyed woodworking and building, skills that he learned and shared with his father.

Jim was an avid bowler, having reached a top score of 288. His love for bowling is passed down to his son, Micah. Whether it was at the bowling alley or on the baseball diamond, Jim was Micah’s number one fan and coach from the stands.

Jim was happiest when he was with his family; it could have been in Disney World on an annual family vacation or at home just watching Hallmark movies. He particularly loved the adopted Italian Pishotti family traditions and gatherings. Jim’s contagious positive presence and willingness to help others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim will always be remembered by his wife of 18 years, Natalie Pishotti Grayson of Howland; son, Micah Grayson of Howland; father, Earl Grayson Sr. of Cortland; brother, Earl Grayson Jr. of Cortland; brother-in-law, Paul Shaffer of Howland; favorite sister-in-law, Monica Pishotti of Howland; many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and his loyal golden doodle, Callie.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Grayson; sister-in-law, Christine Pishotti Shaffer; brother-in-law, David Pishotti and in-laws, Frank and Angela Pishotti.
